![]() ![]() This is all funny now since I absolutely adore horror movies as an adult – but as a kid a lot of these fears really don’t sit right with you. There are just tons of really weird parts in that movie…Or even in “Home Alone” where the heater in the basement turns out to be completely evil. This movie is probably a major source of my childhood anxiety honestly because I legitimately was worried that all my pets would have to go through the nasty pet hell before going to Heaven. The dog in the movie DOES NOT go to Heaven it actually goes to probably the most terrifying version of hell I have ever witnessed. That alone is just cruel! I think they wanted to make kids feel like “Look kids! The dog goes to heaven and he’s happy! So don’t be sad when Fido dies because it’s really a good thing.” Oh wait – THE DOG GOES TO HELL. First of all, I think young me could sense that Charlie Sheen was not someone to like as he was a bad dog! But let’s just get into this for a second: you are making children watch movies about their pets dying. I just was scared of the entire concept! He was scary! Or, let’s not forget “All Dogs Go to Heaven”. There was something cool about having a giant robot, but at the same time the movie was so sad and to be frank it gave me nightmares. Gosh, I loved the 90s (and early 2000s)! However as I watch all these happy movies that fill me with fantastic memories (specifically Homeward Bound, Air Bud and pretty much any Disney movie) I can’t help but remember the movies that, quite frankly, scarred me as a child.įor example, I’m not sure about you guys, but I was both in awe and terrified of “The Iron Giant”. ![]() “Crossroads”, “She’s All That”, “The Prince & Me”, “Angels in the Outfield”… you name it and I’ve been watching it. Well hello there! I could honestly not tell you what in fact inspired this post maybe it’s because I checked my credit score for the first time ever the other day or the fact that adulthood is in fact horrifying – but lately I have been revisiting all the good movies from my childhood. ![]()
